Obama, ACORN and Stealth Socialism

As an ex-ACORN insider and ex-radical who used Democrat donor lists to raise money for ACORN alter-ego Project Vote and designed the ACORN 2005, 2006 and 2007 Political Operations Year End PowerPoint presentations, I know that President Obama (for whom I now regretfully admit I proudly voted) was an ACORN guy for many years and realize that he became the instrument for the implementation of its stealth socialism agenda. NEW DELHI — Indian police are holding a pigeon under armed guard after it was caught on an alleged spying mission for arch rivals and neighbours Pakistan, media reported on Friday.

The white-coloured bird was found by a local resident in India's Punjab state, which borders Pakistan, and taken to a police station 40 kilometres (25 miles) from the capital Amritsar.

The pigeon had a ring around its foot and a Pakistani phone number and address stamped on its body in red ink.

Police officer Ramdas Jagjit Singh Chahal told the Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency that they suspected the pigeon may have landed on Indian soil from Pakistan with a message, although no trace of a note has been found.

Officials have directed that no-one should be allowed to visit the pigeon, which police say may have been on a "special mission of spying".

The bird has been medically examined and was being kept in an air-conditioned room under police guard.

Is Obama the New Cheney?

Is Obama the New Cheney?

No, not in terms of competence, which Cheney oozed and Obama, to put it mildly, does not. Rather, in terms of Cheney's inability to fake emotional involvement. Bill Clinton was a master of insincerity; when he felt our pain, we almost believed it. Cheney, on the other hand, once sheepishly admitted that he "doesn't do funerals." Emotional symbolism wasn't his forte, and he knew it.

Obama strikes me as, in that respect, a similar personality. He knew that politics dictated that he make a trip to the Gulf to show his concern over the oil spilll; he also knew that such a trip would do no practical good whatsoever. Notwithstanding his daughter's misapprehension, there is nothing that Obama can personally do to plug the leak.

So what we got was a strikingly half-hearted effort. Obama passed through the Gulf in a whirlwind three hours and fifteen minutes, just long enough to pose for a series of photo ops and then beat it back to Chicago.

This is less time than most of us feel obliged to spend with our in-laws on Thanksgiving. And, after speeding back to Chicago, what was the first thing Obama did? He played basketball.

I think I finally understand what Obama's supporters have meant all this time when they call him "cerebral." He just doesn't do emotion well. I'm sympathetic to him on that one, as I was to Cheney. But Americans, unfortunately, have come to expect emotional resonance from their presidents. The lack of it could prove a significant liability to Obama.

White House Report on Sestak Job Offer Raises More Legal Questions, Critics Say

Obama administration and its supporters say there was no "impropriety" behind Clinton's conversation with Sestak, downplaying the scandal as politics as usual, but Republicans want a second opinion.

NYT: White House Used Bill Clinton to Ask Sestak to Drop Out of Race

**Written by guest-blogger Doug Powers

Bill Clinton met with President Obama yesterday — reportedly to discuss how to handle damage control from the oil spill in the Gulf — but it's a good guess that a heaping helping of "getting our stories straight" was the featured item on the lunch menu:

President Obama's chief of staff used former President Bill Clinton as an intermediary to see if Representative Joe Sestak would drop out of a Senate primary if given a prominent, but unpaid, advisory position, people briefed on the matter said Friday.

Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff, asked Mr. Clinton to explore the possibilities last summer, according to the briefed individuals, who insisted on anonymity to discuss the politically charged situation. Mr. Sestak said no and went on to win last week's Pennsylvania Democratic primary against Senator Arlen Specter.

"Did you get Joe Sestak a job yet, Daddy?"

It seems like a believable story — I mean, who wouldn't be convinced to give up their quest to become a United States Senator in return for a spiffy, uncompensated job title in an administration that may well be swept out of office in just over two years — sooner if nobody buys their explanation for this?

If it's that easy I'm going to call Nancy Pelosi and convince her not to run for re-election by offering her a job as an unpaid volunteer at her plastic surgeon's office and give her the title "Queen of the World."

According to the New York Times, one of the "jobs" being dangled in front of Sestak was a position on the President's Intelligence Advisory Board. One of duties of PIAB members is to bring to the president's attention activities that are not being adequately addressed by the Attorney General — things like, oh I don't know… the White House orchestrating a bribery to get somebody to drop out of a Senate race.

For those of you keeping score at home, "nothing improper took place" usually bats two or three spots in the lineup ahead of "mistakes were made."

Rahm Emanuel couldn't be reached for comment because he was in the middle of a
