John McCain Jumps to Huge Lead in Alaska, Obama Swamped
John McCain’s selection of Gov. Sarah Palin, with her 80% approval rating, as his VP choice has made a huge difference. McCain now leads Obama nearly two-to one, 64% to 33%. It is the first poll taken since Palin joined the ticket. In late July McCain's lead was a much closer 5%. McCain is backed by 17% of Alaska Democrats, 91% of Republicans.
