Obama needs to put NASA back on the front burner

In February, Obama proposed scrapping the next-generation Constellation program — not just postponing it — in favor of initiatives to "reach multiple potential destinations." Yet there was no destination specified or timetable included. There was no urgency. The stakes are too high for NASA to bide its time sending astronauts toward new frontiers.
